Landgraf Joins Governor Abbott in Support of Law Enforcement

September 4, 2015

By Rep. Brooks Landgraf

ODESSA, Texas — Representative Brooks Landgraf echoes Governor Greg Abbott’s call for support of law enforcement. Landgraf will join all nine local and state law enforcement agencies operating in Ector County in participating in a minute of silence and the flashing of red and blue lights at 11:00 a.m. Friday outside the Ector County courthouse in downtown Odessa.

“Each and every day our law enforcement officers respond to the scenes of crimes, arrive to aid in traffic accidents and routinely place themselves in harm’s way in order to protect and defend our communities,” Landgraf said. “They deserve our respect and gratitude.”

Governor Abbott issued the statewide call to stand with law enforcement and said that respect and pride in law enforcement must be restored.

“I applaud Governor Abbott’s leadership in asking communities to rally behind our officers and am proud to stand in solidarity with them to offer my support and thank them for their courage,” Landgraf said.

State Representative Brooks Landgraf was elected in 2014 to serve House District 81, which encompasses Andrews, Ector, Ward, and Winkler Counties. Landgraf resides in his hometown of Odessa with his wife, Shelby, and their daughter, Hollis Rose. He works as a cattle rancher and practices law at the firm of Todd, Barron, Thomason, Hudman & Baxter, P.C. in Odessa. An Eagle Scout, Landgraf is also active in several local non-profits.
